My hubby loves him some sunflower seeds. Seriously, he sits in his chair and crunches on the things every freakin' night. Baby girl loves them too. The other day I discovered that one of the local grocery stores sells them in bulk. Yep, that's right. I can now go buy sunflower seeds by the pound. My hubby is a happy man...

Day 24...Gotta Love Organization
Right after Christmas, I got these new storage containers for my kitchen. I loved them so much that I went and got another set of them. Today, I organized the kids' snacks into the containers. The snacks now take up way less space and are much easier for the kiddos to see...
Day 23...What I'm Cooking Up
Last Thanksgiving, I decided to attempt brining the turkey. It worked out so well that I've decided to give it a while with the chicken we're having for dinner. Here's the flavor combo I'm experiementing with: brown sugar, thyme, rosemary, sage and a bit of red pepper flakes...oh, and a bay leaf...
Day 22...My Child of Many Faces
This one is always making faces when I try to take pictures of him. Little does he know, all those funny faces are more fun to share...
Day 21...Don't Give the Baby Chocolate
Or more specifically, don't give the baby chocolate covered espresso beans. She'll end up looking like this...

Day 19...This Child
This child can make me laugh and cry. She can turn my living room from sparkling clean to tornado alley after a F5 storm has hit. She can turn a hard-headed, tough guy into putty in her hands. And she can do all of this in about 3 minutes...
Day 18...Back to School
I took the fall semester off because there was entirely too much chaos in our world. (We moved twice last year.) Today, I go back to school. My trusty ol' backpack has a hole in it so I am using my back-up. I'm not sure it's entirely appropriate since my school's football team got their butts handed to them by the Razorbacks. But, truth is that I'm always gonna be an Arkansas girl...
Day 17...Words
Isn't it amazing how words can strike everyone differently? For instance, the words scrawled on my calendar in the following picture make students and teachers ecstatic. As a parent, they sometimes make me want to pull my hair out...

Day 16...Handsome Boys
Aren't these two handsome?! They are such sweet boys (when they aren't busy beating each other up)...
Day 15...New Computer
We finally got a new desktop. For the last year and a half, we've only had our laptops while we discussed getting a new desktop. Today, we finally went and picked one out. It's an all-in-one and a touchscreen! It is freakin' spectacular!!!
Day 14...Mercy Rule
Oldest kiddo and Middle kiddo are playing basketball right now. Middle kiddo's age group doesn't keep score, but Oldest kiddo's does. Apparently, there's a mercy rule though. The real score at this point was 21-0 in favor of Oldest kiddo's team...

Day 13...Colorful Dinner
This colorful mix tossed with some spiral pasta and Italian dressing is what we're eating for dinner tonight...
Day 12...Smarty Pants
Oldest kiddo is a pretty smart kid. He's pretty funny too. He brought home his report card with some awesome grades but the part he was most excited about was the red star. Apparently, red is his favorite color this week...

Day 11...What I'm Reading
I love reading. (Sure picked the wrong major if I don't...) Right now, I'm reading a book by one of my favorite authors...

Day 10...An Off Day
I couldn't figure out what the heck was up with me this morning. Then I got this text from the hubby...
Day 9...My Little Reader
My darling baby girl is really into books. The last few days, she will give me a book then grab one for herself and plop down on the couch to "read" it. She's pretty freakin' precious...
Day 8...Surprise in the Cupboard
When you have little boys in the house, life is never boring. For instance, I went to get a cup and found this...

Day 7...School Books
I went to get my books for school this morning. I'm such a nerd that I think I'll start reading them this weekend...

Day 5...What's Cooking
Many times, I grab a sheet of paper and start scribbling down ingredients as I throw them into a bowl or a pot. Last night's dinner was one of those times. I wanted to make a beef stew in the oven but couldn't find a recipe I liked so I made one of my own.

Day 4...The Sweetest Yum-Yums
You might not be able to see them, but this bowl contains the sweetest yum-yums...

Day 3...Cornbread in Cast Iron
I love love love making cornbread in my cast iron skillet. It's the only way my granny ever made it. And she would make me cornbread anytime I asked. Now that I have to make my own, I only make cornbread in my cast iron skillet. It's one of those things that instantly transports me to the good ol' days of my childhood.

Day 2...Pickles
One of my goals for this year is to learn how to can and preserve food. Today I started simple. I made a batch of pickles. It'll be a week or so before we know how they taste, but for now I can admire how pretty they are.

Day 1...Snow!!
When you live in West Texas, snow is a rarity. Having just spent Christmas in Minnesota, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the whole snow thing. However, it did make for a nice picture.
And It Begins
I have decided to attempt a 365 project this year. If I succeed, I will have taken a photograph each day for a year. Awesome, right? I think so. I'm not sure that I'll get around to posting each day, but I will definitely post a picture from each day.
Check back often to see my progress...
Oh and feel free to check out my other blog where I chatter about life with three kids, a husband, two dogs, army wife life, student life and a bunch of other random fun.
